Reflection
by Rosalie Chung
He says,
“The moon does not give light.
It is the brightness of the sun
that shines upon it at night.
At times, it glows in full,
bouncing like a ball in the sky.
But normally
it lies low,
hoping that it can give a glimpse of
Direction to the Lost
Who meander and vibrate
Left or right?
Their steps remain steady and forceful
Relying on their ears to seek out
the distraught
never scream for help
oraskfordirectionsoreven stop
?
not a single inkling ever disrupts their pace,
always steady, consistent.
Though they look arrogant,
you can tell
because, you shine.
Perhaps, only a sliver, Don’t ignore it.
Your purpose, your life
to be as a lake—
mirroring the One who created you.
Sometimes it may only be a crescent,
or the ripples can blur your source,
but the race is not over just yet.
Ask, plead.
The light can help you find your way
